About Sandra
Sandra has been drawing horses since she was 7 years old. She gravitates towards abstract design and loves to think outside the box and have fun with her horses.
When her Friesian horse Douwe was retired due to unsoundness, she experimented with activities that they could do together for many years to come. He already knew a variety of tricks so learning how to paint was a fun challenge for both him and Sandra.
After Douwe passed away in 2020 she began painting with her other horse Rovandio (shown left). He required more patience and experimentation but once he figured it out he really began to shine! He continues to excel as an artist with expressive brushstrokes who loves to perform for an audience.
Sandra is passionate about helping people who want to be creative with their horses. She knows what it feels like to lose interest in competition and serious training. Sometimes you just want to have fun and desire a close bond with your horse. Creating that special connection is what motivates her every day.
“My reason for contacting you is to thank you for inspiring me to paint with my miniature horse, Pepperoni. One of your videos with Rovandio came up at just the right time. My mini was recovering from a traumatic injury and I was looking for a way for us to reconnect. Your video gave me the idea to teach him to paint. It has been a wonderful experience for many reasons. Thank you for all that you give.”
